Chair of the Crypto and Digital Assets APPG, Lisa Cameron responds to Treasury Select Committee Report Summary on Regulating Crypto

Chair of the Crypto and Digital Assets All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG), Dr. Lisa Cameron MP, has responded to the Report Summary on Regulating Crypto released by the Treasury Select Committee, saying:

‘I welcome the Treasury Select Committee’s interest in the future of the UK crypto and digital asset industry. It’s vital that MPs continue to engage and upskill ourselves regarding this new and rapidly growing industry.

The Crypto and Digital Assets APPG will shortly be publishing its own report into the crypto industry and will consider all of the Committee’s recommendations as part of our own inquiry.”“A properly regulated and responsible crypto industry in the UK will present a number of benefits for the UK economy, for growth and for jobs, as well as transforming the way we deal with money and make payments, or access to finance.

The UK Government is adopting a balanced and measured approach to regulating crypto and digital assets – protecting the public whilst ensuring that our leadership in fintech innovation is maximised.’
