The Crypto Industry Parliamentary Summit with Lord Ed Vaizey of Didcot at the UK House of Lords brought together Parliamentarians and senior industry figures to explore the UK’s path toward crypto regulation. With over 40 representatives in the room — including leading exchanges, legal and compliance experts, infrastructure providers, and policy specialists — the discussion focused on how the UK can deliver on its ambition to become a global crypto hub.
Key themes from the summit:
- Function-specific regulation is essential — crypto isn’t one-size-fits-all
- Debanking remains a persistent barrier, even for registered firms
- The registration and authorisation process must be faster and clearer
- Education continues to be critical — for regulators, policymakers, and the public
A huge thank you to our speakers Azariah Nukajam (MCSI), Devina Paul, and Rebecca Rogers, to our co-facilitator Ian Taylor, and to our host Lord Ed Vaizey. We’re also grateful to Lord Cromwell, Lord Ranger, and Gurinder Singh Josan CBE MP for engaging so thoughtfully with the sector.
With the Chancellor’s recent commitment to integrating crypto into the UK’s financial regulatory framework, this summit could not have come at a better time. It’s clear that open dialogue between industry and policymakers is essential to shaping proportionate, effective regulation — and maintaining the UK’s competitiveness on the global stage.
We look forward to continuing the conversation.
