In support of George Osborne’s warning that the UK has been “completely left behind” on crypto regulation, Crypto and Digital Assets APPG Co-Chairs Lord Vaizey of Didcot and Gurinder Singh Josan MP are calling for urgent government action.

In their open letter to the Financial Times, they highlight two major barriers: restoring access to banking for licensed crypto firms, and speeding up authorisations — warning that “the Financial Conduct Authority has only registered 51 companies. That’s shockingly low for a G7 economy.”

The APPG, supported by CryptoUK as its secretariat, works to scrutinise the UK’s approach to crypto regulation and recommend a clear, competitive framework that supports innovation while protecting consumers.
