CryptoUK has joined nine other leading industry organisations in a letter calling on the UK Government to retain Clause 50 of the Financial Services and Markets Bill.
The clause would require HM Treasury to develop, publish and consult on a national Digital Assets Strategy, helping to bring together the UK’s approach to cryptoasset regulation, stablecoins, tokenisation and digital financial infrastructure, while addressing key challenges such as access to banking and payment services.
The letter highlights the importance of a more joined-up approach across Government, regulators and industry, providing greater clarity and long-term direction for the UK’s digital assets sector.
